Pura Luhur Uluwatu is a temple located in the Pecatu Village area, Kuta District, Badung. This temple, which is on a steep and high rock platform and juts out into the sea, is the Sad Kayangan Temple which is believed by Hindus to be a buffer from the 9 winds. This temple is at an altitude of 97 meters above sea level. In front of the temple there is a small forest called Alas KEKERAN, which functions as a buffer for the sanctity of the temple.
